Love, love, LOVE my new networking cards from Minted!! 

Being a mom, going to playdates and get togethers, you never know who you'll meet and want to schedule future playdates/get together with. I always end up scribbling down my info on a napkin or gum wrapper. Hey, whatever's handy! I don't know why I never thought about "Mommy" cards before. I mean, they don't even have to be mommy-ish, they can just be for networking. I chose to just have my info on them. What really makes them "mommy" cards is adding your child(rens) names and ages to them. Any way you style them, I love the idea :)

They are having a promo right now for 25 free cards. (Which is what I did so that I could check them out) You do have to pay shipping ($7-something) but I didn't mind. They have TONS of styles/designs...it was hard for me to choose! They are really great quality and come in a really cute box too...bonus! Old= New

I LOVE our "new" chairs!! 

When we moved back to Jax, we inherited a 6-seater dining room table. Which was AWESOME because we needed one. The only problem was it needed a little lift. The fabric was a little stained and worn. But that was no problem!! We needed something that would tie in the living room colors (black) and the table color (which was white). We went to the mecca of home stores, Ikea, and of course found the perfect pattern! The hubs helped me by taking apart the chairs and I stapled the new fabric on. We are quite the team :) It's amazing how something so simple makes a world of a difference!

You know it's going to be a super day when....

you spill coffee all over your Macbook.....UGH!!!!

It's been one of those days. Luckily, it's still working. It will randomly turn itself off...but other than that, there doesn't seem to be any other problems. I spent most of my morning popping off key after key, cleaning out the lovely sticky coffee gunk. Fun times. Lesson learned....I'm never setting any sort of liquid next to any electronic device EVER AGAIN.

Sweet Moment

Yesterday afternoon I was washing dishes (more like loading them in the dishwasher) and realized that Peyton was awfully quiet. This, most of the time, means: A. She's doing her "business" or B. She's getting into/doing something she shouldn't be. So I go in to check on her. This is what I found.....

She was in such a serious mood too. Her little seahorse plays lullabies if you push it's tummy and she had the music playing. Every time it would stop she'd start it again. After I took a few pictures, I asked if I could join and she let me rock her (later, she even let Daddy). When I'd go to set her down, she'd start to cry. She just wanted me to rock her. You better believe I soaked up everysinglesecond of that time. I couldn't help but wonder what was going on in that little head of hers. I'd like to think she was reminiscing on all of the times I rocked her to sleep in that glider. I was. Those nights don't feel like they were so long ago, sigh.

Mish Mash

A few random thoughts before the wonderful weekend:

1. Be on the lookout for my Boudreaux's review and GIVEAWAY. You are going to be able to win some seriously awesome products! Don't miss out! (Coming Monday, promise!!)

2. Pinterest (< follow me?) is seriously overwhelming me. Overwhelming me by overloading me with super awesome craft/diy ideas that I don't need to do but want to. I don't know when I'll find time to do everything I want, but where there's a will, there's a way right??

3. Peyton is growing too fast. I keep meaning to go back to her 18 mo. post and add the things she's started doing but there are just too many to keep up with!! She's started putting her farm animal puzzle together all by herself < what!? We're still working on fitting them in correctly, but she can set them on their correct spaces. So proud!    *I swear it was just yesterday that she started crawling...


4. My Etsy shop is not taking off like I'd hoped. If you feel lead, check it out , find something pretty, and help a Momma out! Pretty please!! Pretty much everything can be customized. If you have any questions just shoot me an email MNRumsey{at}aol{dot}com and I'll see what I can do!!

5. My newly-married sister, Sarah, and brother in-law Josh, are coming to visit for the weekend. Lots of fun in store. Peyton is the main reason for her wanting to visit, but I'll make it work for me ;)

Time of day

Before becoming a SAHM, my favorite part of the day was obviously once I got home from work. Kicking off my heels, getting into comfy clothes and finally being able to  b r e a t h e. Also, I looked forward (worked for? ha.)to the weekends. Ohmygoodness the weekend! I don't have to wake up at the crack of dawn?? I don't have to deal with annoying customers all day?? Heck yes. (Well, except for one Saturday a month I would, boo) Austin and I had TWO whole days to do whatever we wanted together.  

Fast forward almost two years. Here I sit, well, lay, in my bed, my baby laying next to me. We've got the Disney channel on, and I've got my laptop and coffee handy. This, my friends, is our morning routine. And this is what I look forward to, everyday. Sure I may have seen every single episode of Mickey Mouse Clubhouse a few gazillion times and had a sippy cup full of milk spill onto my sheets a few times here or there, but I wouldn't trade this time for anything!! Each time I lay there with Peyton in my arms and stroke her hair I realize it's one stroke closer to a time when she won't want to do that with me anymore. I still can't believe that she's a year and a half....and getting so grown-up!! I make sure I soak in everysinglebit of special time I have with her each day. 

Now of course, we look forward to the evenings when Daddy comes home and the weekends are still special because the three of us can all hang out together uninterrupted. And that's just da bomb :)
