We survived

Welp, Peyton had her first blood involved injury last night. For all who know me well, you would know that blood and I do NOT go well together. We do NOT.

Peyton was playing in the bathtub and slipped forward when sitting and WHAM! went face first into the side of the tub. The pain scream/crying started (the kind you NEVER want to hear) and then came the blood from her mouth....((shudder)). I held it together pretty well (on the outside!) but was frantic to find out where it was coming from. Austin was trying to pry her mouth open so we could see what was going on. Without making her mouth open too wide (because we didn't know what she tore/busted open) it looked as if she had a nice busted lip courtesy of her front top toothies.

Thankfully, it didn't bleed very long. Peyton was a trooper, as she only cried (but it was quite a cry) a little while. As of this morning, it seems that it wasn't her lip but her gums above her teeth. I'm not sure. I hope it didn't hurt her teeth =/ I'm keeping a watch on them.

Ugh. I do not enjoy seeing my little one get hurt. As a result, last night I prayed for God to send EXTRA angels to guard her....

"Hi, I'm your husband. Wanna go out?"

Recently, the hubs and I were able to go on a date. Like, the not having to worry about a baby-take our time while eating-have conversation without having to stop a little person from throwing food across the restaurant-kind of date. It was seriously the first REAL date Austin and I have had together since Peyton was born. And in case you aren't sure how long that has been...almost ONE YEAR peeps! (and no, I do not count the quick run out and grab a bite to eat while Peyton naps with the grandparents- trips)
I'm not saying that Peyton has been a hindrance, because that is absolutely not true. When you have a child, your focus shifts to them and their needs. And if that means no solid "Mommy and Daddy time" then so be it. But now that Peyton has gotten older and nursing is fading, that has loosened the strings!! After getting some gift cards for Christmas, I could not WAIT to get some one on one time with my handsome man :)

Last Friday, I dressed up a little and waited for Austin to come home. The grandparents came over and we were out the door. The evening was filled with opening car and restaurant doors (he does this already but it was made more dramatic because we pretended we were "dating"...haha silly I know, but hey, we had fun!), dinner at PF Changs, chatting about this and that, taking our time while eating (<-- this one is a BIGGIE people!) and dessert from Cheesecake Factory, yum!

We had a great time. It was just what we needed. And at the end, still got to come home to our sweet little one.

So, here's to the new level in our marriage, Dating after a Baby!! :)

11 Months

We are officially ONE month away from the big First Birthday folks. I could cry. But, I won't.

Here's what my busy little bee has been up to this month:

Weight 18.4 lbs. ; Height, not sure.

You have SEVEN teeth!! Three up top and four on the bottom.

You are seriously all over the place and STILL have not decided to walk. I can't imagine how much faster you'll be once you do walk.

You have no problem using furniture or toys to help you walk, just not by yourself.

You love Talking Tom on my iTouch. While I'm bringing up the program, you seriously almost have a panic attack while waiting, haha, it's so funny

You love your family.

You are obsessed with Cody. You've figured out that while your eating, if you drop some food on the floor you can get him to come to you...sneaky.

You are always "talking". Real words you can say: doggy, momma, dada, papa, baby, byebye, duckie, and moo

We just celebrated your first Christmas and I don't think it could have been better :) We spent Christmas Eve and Christmas morning at Mimi and Uby's house and the rest of Christmas day at Grammy and Papa's. You didn't care for ripping wrapping paper or watching us open your gifts but you did get excited about your presents once you could see what they were!

For the past month or more, our new bedtime consists of me rocking and humming you to sleep. You love it, and I do too :)

You don't like to drink very much. All you will drink is water or very watered-down sweet tea (no surprise there) and still it's not alot. You don't even like juice!

We're down to about 3-4 nursings a day.

You still wake up at least once at night. But, you are having more random nights that you have slept through the night!

You give the sweetest hugs and kisses.

You love to dance. You have several different "styles" of dance too. It's SO cute!

Your favorite song at the moment is Itsy Bitsy Spider.

Still taking two naps. One mid-morning, one late afternoon.

You are all of a sudden a little (with emphasis on little because I
just cannot allow you to grow that much) girl. And it is pure craziness to me! You are so intelligent and funny. You've got quite the personality, my dear. I find amusement in just sitting back and watching you play. I see nothing but fun times ahead! :)
