Half a YEAR!!
Weight: will update after your appt.
Length: will update after your appt.
Diapers: Huggies- 1/2
Clothing size: you have quite a range! still some 3 month, 6 month, and recently, a few 9 month pieces (even though I am in denial about them, they must be mismarked! You canNOT be growing that fast...)
**Let me add that until you were about 3 1/2 mths, you were on the smaller side, everything I put on in your "size" was too big. Now you're dead-on or sometimes have to go up a size!
What Are You Doing These Days:
*You like to bang things with your hand...and when you have something IN your hand, you've realized you can bang that and make noise!
*You roll EVERYWHERE! You roll to wherever and whatever you want
*You scoot, but only little bits at a time
*You can sit up, but only for a few minutes, then you usually let yourself fall over, because let's face it, it's hard to sit yourself up and you'd rather lay down and play than sit up (oh geez) Mommy is constantly making you sit up and you don't like it!
*You've been saying "mama" and "dada"...mostly in between your babbling several other sounds too but Austin and I swear you've looked at me when you said "mama" and did it on purpose....but the other day, Austin came into the room and I said "who's that Peyton??" you looked up, saw Daddy, smiled and said "dadada" ...tell me that wasn't on purpose!
*Anytime anyone around you has a drink, you want a sip! I bought you your own cup thinking that would satisfy you, but no, you want our cups because that's where the good stuff is! Smart girl!
*I've started making you clap and we say "yay!" at first you kept your hands clamped closed and now you realize they can make a noise if they are open, so now when I make you clap, you keep them open! So smart :)
*You have a love/hate relationship with Mickey Mouse the doll. Sure you love him on tv but when Daddy brought you home a stuffed one and we showed him to you, you screamed bloody murder, and it wasn't because you were happy....slowly but surely you are warming up to him, but he still makes you a tad uneasy. (Austin and I find this hilarious...don't judge, haha)
*I have realized that you have a MUCH better closet full of clothes than I do, and I'm ok with that ;) (Most of the credit needs to go to your Mimi and Grammy!)
*You love to eat anything we feed you. However it seems that your digestive system has a hard time keeping a nice schedule getting rid of it! No matter the baby food, we've had a time with constipation..ugh. So we've kind of backed off the solids and are slowly reintroducing them, one at a time with LONG breaks in between.
..I might add that you also have started "helping" us feed you, you insist on holding the spoon too and helping guide it to your mouth, just in case we forget where it is ;)
*For about a month now you have started making this disturbing, grunt/growl noise when you are mad/frustrated. I have to say, I don't like it, you sound like a monster lol
*You love attention and you love when people compliment you. You immediately flash them a huge grin and flutter your beautiful little lashes. Funny, you can't even talk yet but I swear you understand when people tell you how adorable or how pretty you are....
You also hate to be left alone, if I/anyone leaves your sight, you start to fuss!
*You laugh your head off at me when I sing you the following:
-the Hillshire Farm meat commercial..."I said a beef hotlink, I said a beef hotlink..Go meat!"
-the Geico commercial with the annoying ring tone..."Ring-idy-ding-ding-dingy-dong, a-ring-idy-ding-ding"
-Old McDonald
Maybe it's the tone I use when I sing them? or maybe the face I make? Not sure, but you crack up every.time.
*You went to your first movie..."Despicable Me" (you lasted through half of it!)
*You've learned you can now blow raspberries with your tongue not just your lips
*When you get excited about something or want attention, you pant like a dog...it is the funniest thing!! (Auntie Sarah taught you this...)
*You are an instant mood lifter! Times have been kind of rough for our family lately, and Peyton is a bright ray of sunshine. We take a trip to my parents and immediately, my Dad (and Mom!) feel better :)
Peyton is turning into her own little person more and more each day. She is so much fun! Here's to another month of fun new things!!

Dad Update
Yesterday Dad had his first dose of chemo. It was pretty much an all day affair. He started getting itchy when one of the medicines was administered but he was given Benedryl and it stopped. All in all everything went really well. He never got nauseous! They gave him something to take in case he starts to feel that way, but so far so good. The doctors couldn't really for sure tell Dad what side effects he would have because every one is effected differently. But they did tell him some of the effects that others have experienced. We are praying that he can go through this with as little side effects as possible, but as the days go by he could start to feel bad.
After talking with his doctor, Dad decided not to do radiation and to do three extra treatments of chemo instead. The odds are better at getting rid of the cancer completely if he does more chemo. (Radiation only treats the one area the cancer was found) So he will be treated for three months instead of two. He is still planning on going every two weeks, but the doctor told him that if he gets a temp of 100.5 he has to go to the hospital immediately.....due to there being an infection and that if that happens he will then have to go every three weeks.
Peyton and I have been here in Oviedo hanging out with the fam this week. My parents have decided that she makes everything better :) Nothing like a little granddaughter TLC!!
Please continue to pray for Dad's treatments, that they would go as well as the first and that he would have minimal side effects. Also pray that he stays healthy. With his immune system being wiped out, it is dangerous for him to get even a small cold. Pray for strength for my Mom, she is his rock :)
Thank you for your constant prayers, I am so thankful for such great family and friends!!!!

Random Thursday
I have a new favorite brand of nail polish. It's Sally Hansen's Complete Salon Manicure. I LOVE it, seriously, it's the bomb! I have always been been obsessed with keeping color on my toes (you will NEVER see my feet w/o polish...) and fingers. My coworkers used to tease me that even when I had a child I would still find a way to change the color of my nails. And they were correct! How do I find the time? I just do! lol. Anywhoo, back to the brand. Aside from an awesome color selection, the polish dries quickly (BIG plus) and is sooo smooth! Depending on the color I can sometimes get away with only ONE coat! (Which is super good when you have a baby that will probably decide to wake up right in mid polish) It has a cool shaped brush that makes it really easy to get around your cuticles. It is a little more expensive than Revlon or Maybelline but not much as OPI or Nicole. (Target seems to always have them priced a little lower too!)
If you're lookin' for a good brand that looks like you went and had a manicure, try this out!
My color of choice for the lovely summer...."Fairy Teal"
(I never would have thought I would ever like teal, but VOILA!! :)

Mascara Experiment
I'm a mascara-o-holic. I'll admit it. I would love to have lashes that didn't need "help" but unfortunately, mine do. With that said, I have bought and tried pretty much every single kind that comes out. I guess I want to believe what each one claims...even though they rarely make any difference AT ALL :p
My favorite one right now is Maybelline Define-A-Lash. Seems to be the ONLY one that makes my lashes look some kinda good. Not too long ago, Revlon advertised a new mascara that, ofcourse, caught my eye...."Grow Luscious". It's supposed to "compliment the natural growth cycle of your lashes and improve their overall appearance and condition with each use". So me being the addict I am, decided to buy it and give this one a try. I also thought to document it. I'll give it a shot for a few weeks and see if it indeed does improve my lashes.
Sorry Define-A-Lash, I'm putting you to rest...for a while. Let's see if this stuff works!!

Blind-sighted
About a month ago, a lump developed on my Dad's neck. We were a tad concerned about it because it came out of nowhere and it was just, odd. His primary doctor referred him to a ENT so that he could get it further examined. They never did a biopsy because the ENT doctor was confident that it was a Brachial Cleft Cyst. We were relieved. It could be removed and that would be it. He had a MRI done to determine if that was the case and/or if there were more. All was clear. A little over a week ago, he had surgery to remove the cyst. This past Thursday he went in to have his stitches removed. As the doctor was working on removing the stitches my Dad casually asked about his biopsy results. The doctor paused and told my Dad that he needed to talk to him about them. The results came back positive for Lymphoma.
Even though it's only been two days since we found out, it's been a whirlwind. Dad met with an oncologist yesterday and the doctor was able to give him and my Mom an in depth idea of what is going to be happening. My parents left feeling very encouraged. Even though my Dad has Non Hodgekins (which is the more aggressive kind) it's almost better, because it responds to treatment better than Hodgekins. We don't know what stage he is yet. This week my Dad is undergoing several tests and by this Friday (my parents 27th wedding anniversary...great timing) we will know what stage he is. If his scans come back clear, meaning the removed lump was all there was, the doctor said that Dad will more than likely only need to undergo one round of Chemo (6 months). We are praying that this is the case, we want Stage 1! Worse case, he has two undergo two treatments(for a year). Reguardless of his stage, he starts his first round of Chemo July 23.
Dispite the news, we are all in good spirits. God has a plan and we are trusting in Him. Would everyone please keep my Dad and our family in your prayers during this time?? Even ask your friends and family to pray for him as well?
Here are some specific things my Dad would like for you to pray for:
1. My Dad to have Stage 1.....no more cancer will be found, that one lump was it!
2. During Chemo, my Dad would feel as comfortable as possible and that it would go as smoothly as possible.
3. That he wiil only need one round of Chemo, as little as possible.
4. Peace for our family
5. That my Dad continues to be a good testimony through it all
So do not fear for I am with you, do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
