Peyton-isms

Ack. I've been so bad at documenting Peyton!! I think because once they turn one, they start learning and doing so many new things so quickly it's hard to keep up with it all. Every time I'd sit to write a post, I'd get overwhelmed with everything I'd want/try to remember and just quit. Dumb I know. However, with another one on the way, I refuse to let myself push anything else under the rug because it won't be "all about Peyton" for too much longer and I know it will only get harder to keep up with things with two.  So this post will be like a mile long but I want to remember this stage!

*Peyton will randomly announce a minute warning,"TWO MINUTES!!!" (or however many minutes she so chooses) whenever we are doing something. Not sure why she does this, but it cracks us up because it always seems to be at the appropriate time. (Ex: We're at a restaurant waiting to pay our bill or she wants Austin and/or I to do something with her and we have to finish what we're doing first.) I had no idea where she got this from until just the other day, she was watching Shrek and there was a part where Shrek yells at Donkey to be quiet for just "5 more minutes!!" <-- Aaaaand there you have it.

*With whatever she is doing, she groups colors together. When building blocks the same colors must be stacked together before moving to the next color, when eating fruit "naks" (snacks) she lines up each color group. OCD much? ha.

*Her favorite movies/shows are as follows:
-Shrek
-Toy Story (the first one, only b/c that's all we have :))
-Wall-E
-Winnie the Pooh the movie
-Little Einsteins (the Playhouse Disney show, not the weird dvds)
-Mickey Mouse Clubhouse (any show/movie)
-Ice Age
-The Pixar Shorts
-Scooby Doo (which she only gets to watch at Mimi and Bia's b/c we don't get it here)

*Favorite toys:
-Baby (still must go with her EVERYWHERE)
-Blankie (ditto above^)
-Minnie dress-up figurine
-Toy Story figurines (Woody, Buzz, Jessie, Hamm, and Rex)
-Building blocks
-Littlest Pet shop animals
-Sophie the Giraffe (STILL! She plays with her more now than when she first got her at 11 mo!)

*She can count to 12 (doesn't mean she'll do it when asked, but I have heard her do it, so she can ;))

*She knows some shapes....triangle, circle, square, star

*Knows some colors....purple, green, blue, pink, red, yellow, orange (Again, depends what mood she's in if she'll tell you the color correctly...her default answer is "blue" lol)

*She loves to drink your coffee if you'll let her. None of us drink it "weak" either, so that's crazy.

*Food wise, ugh. I'll just leave it at that. Still eats NOTHING. I get anxiety thinking about it, but thank Jesus she's healthy and growing ;)

*We have been "becoming friends" with the potty. I refuse to say potty training because we aren't. I've sat her on the potty several times and she's even going #2 on it, but will NOT pee in it. So I haven't been pushing it, if she wants to sit on it we do. I tried a few days with " big girl und*es" but it just would not register with her. Still peed in them without even thinking something was different. If "training" her takes time, so be it. I refuse to stress about it. When she's ready, she's ready.

*She knows where Parker/Brother is- My belly. But those words still mean nothing to her.

*Other randoms: As far as what she says...it is just too much to type. She's full on sentences. She is such a hoot  and talks really well (for her age that is). She STILL hates getting her picture taken. 80% of the time she will avoid the camera and scream "NO", sigh. (Exhibit A- top picture) Oh, and she still has the paci :/ Which I said by her 2nd birthday would be gone...notsomuch. She gets it only when sleeping and then in the car. We really need to work on this one. ((Shudder))

Welp, I think that's about it. She has her tantrums and major attitude, but I have to say she's more pleasant than not. I really wish I could freeze her in this stage. She's too much fun :)

Current Beauty Favs

It's been awhile since I've shared some of my favorite, cheap beauty finds. It's been all pregnancy/baby stuff lately so I figured I'd relieve you ;)

1. Revlon Lip Butter...$6.49 (at Target) and found anywhere Revlon is sold
This stuff is great! It's kind of a mixture between lipstick and gloss. Each one I have tried has great color and is nice and smooth. Stays on for a decent amount of time too. LOVE!

2. Clinique Eyeshadow Base- in Petal Shimmer...$15
Ok, so this isn't "cheap" per se, but it is AMAZING! My makeup regimen is pretty low key. (As in, I really never wear anything but mascara and lipgloss) but one thing that is consistent, is that I love a little shimmer on my eyes. This is a "base" that is meant to help your eyeshadow go/and stay on smoothly and longer but I love to wear this alone too. It's the perfect light shimmer. Try it!

3. Essie, Turquoise and Caicos...$8.00 This wouldn't be me if I didn't include a polish ;)

This is seriously my favorite teal/aqua color and great for this time of year. Glad I could bring it back out :)

Well there ya have it! A few items to try, if you haven't already. What are some of your recent finds??

Easter 2012

Sunday was such a nice, relaxing (as relaxing as a holiday can get) day. Austin and I had decided that we would stay put this year and just go to his parent's for the afternoon (instead of our usual hopping between both our families). We got ready ready for church and watched Peyton tear into her basket, enojyed a wonderful service and then headed to his parent's house for a yummy lunch. After stuffing ourselves silly (which I'll probably pay for at my next appt =/), we headed outside to watch Peyton hunt for eggs. Last year she wasn't really into it, but this year she was addicted! We had to keep hiding and re-hiding eggs for her. I loved that =) Then she wrapped her hunt up with a ride on a riding lawn mower with Austin.....I know how that sounds, lol, but Peyton loved it! It's all about the memories people! The rest of the day was spent watching Gone with the Wind and lounging. I spent that whole day just soaking in every little bit because this was our last Easter with Peyton as our one and only. Kind of bittersweet but I know we'll have even more fun with two =)

Bumpdate: 20 Weeks

****(here's the updated 20 week pic of Parker)
How Far Along: 20 weeks. HALFWAY POINT! Whaaa???!

Weight: up 4.5 lbs =/ ...as of my appt Wed. I gained 4 lbs.!!! However, my belly seemed to pop last week, so I'll blame it on the baby ;)

Maternity Clothes: Definitely all bottoms, getting to be more maternity tops than not since the belly is making it's appearance :) I've been living in tunics and leggings though...LOVE my maternity leggings!!

Stretch Marks: Um, no new ones.

Sleep: Eh, it's better than it has been. But I still toss and turn alot and of course get up to pee!!

Movement: LOTS more movement lately. Parker's jabbing and moving alot more...he's been crazy. I think my placenta has either moved a little or he's just getting bigger because there's been a big difference in feeling him, Austin has even been able to feel him finally :)

Food/Cravings: Hallelujah my food aversion is fading!! I'm almost able to eat whatever without having to really think about it. The chicken aversion is still the strongest, but there's improvement!!

Labor Signs: Um, no

Belly Button: Still a big gaping crater. It's ugly really. It's getting shallower though, already!

What I miss: Sleeping NORMALLY, and not peeing all dadgum day.

Best Moment This Week: Our anatomy scan this past Wednesday and getting to see baby boy again :) He was much more lively and even stretched out his little arms and legs and yawned a few times.

Weekly Wisdom: Don't google things. Even people who don't stress out easily or tend to worry (like me) Just don't. Pregnancy hormones make you vulnerable. Seriously. ha.

Little man has a name!!

We pretty much had his name decided on before he was a HE. But for whatever reason we've taken our time committing to it until now.

We decided on Parker for no other reason than we liked it (and NO we are not doing our children's names with the same letter on purpose and Parker does happen to have family ties) and Thomas because that is Austin's middle name and is also his Dad's and grandfather's. We're passing it on!

So there ya have it :)

Bumpdate: 17w2d

How Far Along: 17w2d

Weight: gained .5 of a lb as of my last appt (3/16) for a total of  +.05 lbs

Maternity Clothes: I'm still in the weird in between stage. Right now, there is no need for preggo tops...not even in the near future so it seems. I bought two new pairs of maternity jeans because none of my old maternity bottoms fit, they are all too big. (Since I lost a good amount of weight since last time) I have been wearing both pairs because they are super comfy. One is still kind of big but is better than being uncomfortable in normal pants.

Stretch Marks: Um, no

Sleep: Eh, it's better than it has been. But I still toss and turn alot and of course get up to pee!!

Movement: Yes! As of my 13th week. AND, at my u/s this past week the tech told me that my placenta is in front, which makes a cushion in between the baby and uterine wall. Which explains why I don't feel him strongly, just subtle wooshes here and there. But, he also is alot more chill than Peyton was. As soon as she started jabbing me, she didn't stop! lol

Food/Cravings: Hallelujah my food aversion is fading!! I'm almost able to eat whatever without having to really think about it. The chicken aversion is still the strongest, but there's improvement!!

Labor Signs: Um, no

Belly Button: Still a big gaping crater <>

What I miss: Sleeping NORMALLY, and not peeing all dadgum day. I am kind of sad that I won't be able to wear certain trends for the summer =/

Best Moment This Week: Finding out the gender! Peyton's going to have a little BROTHER!! Craziness!!; OH! and since it's been a few weeks since I've done one, we took Peyton to the Magic Kingdom and Animal Kingdom for her first time (well and I guess baby's first time too ;)) the first weekend in March and had a great time! I made it the entire day in the park and riding rides. Woohoo!

Weekly Wisdom: My motherly intuition is always wrong. lol. I kid, I kid (even though it feels that way sometimes) Really don't have anything for this week.

Baby #2 is a.......

BOY!!!!
 There is no denying. Haha.

Our children love to show us their feet...cute little toes!!

 Wonderful heartbeat....at 151 bpm

"Oh hello!"

Friday (3/16) we had our gender u/s. I had no feelings this time as to what baby was. And even if I did, I told everyone that I refused to say/guess because last time I just knew Peyton was a boy and I was so wrong! Even though I didn't think I had an idea, I guess I subconsciously did, because when I saw "it" (haha) and the tech said BOY, I was SO SHOCKED! lol. It was neat this go around because we brought Peyton with us. So she got to experience it with us. Even though she didn't know what was going on, it was special. I had to keep reassuring her that I was ok....I guess the tech using the wand on my belly made Peyton nervous, lol. A sweet memory for sure ♥

Now I must start training myself for a boy. This is brand new, uncharted territory people!!!
